With the Verena Meyer Visiting Professorship, the Executive Board of the University provides UZH faculties with the opportunity to invite more outstanding female professors to UZH who can serve as role models for early-career academics. Additional information can be found in the fact sheet below.

Professor Eti Einhorn

Professor Eti Einhorn will be the Verena Meyer Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics from March 15 to May 15, 2026. She is Professor of Accounting, holds the Maurice and Gertrude Deutch Chair of Finance and Accounting, and is Director of the Accounting Department at the Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on information economics, with a particular emphasis on the role of information in capital markets.

Professor Karin Allenspach Jorn

Professor Karin Allenspach was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Vetsuisse Faculty of UZH in July 2025. She is a clinician-scientist and has been employed as faculty in academia for the last 20 years. She has a broad background in small animal internal medicine (Diplomate European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine DECVIM-CA) with a special emphasis on gastroenterology and oncology, and she has undergone extensive post-graduate training in basic and applied immunology (Dr. med. vet., PhD).
 

Professor Caroline Flammer

Professor Caroline Flammer was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics of UZH from July 1 to August 31, 2023, 2024 and 2025. She conducts research on sustainable finance and impact investing and how they can help finance a more sustainable world. In addition, she explores how and under which circumstances companies can incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into their activities.

Professor Meltem Kulaçatan

Professor Meltem Kulaçatan was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Faculty of Theology and the Study of Religion of UZH from October 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025. She is a professor of social work and specializes in migration integration and critical diversity education at the International University of Applied Sciences in Nuremburg, Germany. Her other research priorities include women and gender research in the context of critical immigration research, contemporary Jewish-Muslim relations, Islamic radicalization and the prevention of radicalization in Germany.

Professor Yan Chen

Professor Yan Chen was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics of UZH from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. Her research interests are in behavioral and experimental economics, market design and digital economics. She is Daniel Kahneman Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan’s School of Information and a research professor at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research. 
 

Professor Leigh Johnson

Professor Leigh Johnson was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics of UZH from January 1 to August 31, 2024. Her research focus in 2024 was on the ecological labor of climate change and disaster response, and she researched the extent to which climate adaptation and development projects rely on unpaid and underpaid labor. Leigh Johnson was a postdoctoral researcher and instructor at UZH’s Department of Geography from 2011 to 2016 and received support from a UZH research fund.

Professor Margaret-Anne Storey

Professor Margaret-Anne Storey was a Verena Meyer visiting professor at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics of UZH from September 1 to December 31, 2023. With her research, she aims to understand how technology can help people seek, understand and share complex information and knowledge.
